The 1970s had an incredibly diverse range of music genres. Of course everyone knows the popularity of disco music, but there was also fantastic classic rock music being played by the likes of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Eagles, and other great rock bands. Funk and Soul music was very popular led by artists like Earth, Wind, and Fire, James Brown, and the great Stevie Wonder. Singer Songwriters like Joni Mitchell, Carole King, and Jim Croce were all over the charts. Progressive rock (Genesis, Yes, etc.) and Punk Rock (The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, etc..) were also popular music genres.
